Many parents have gotten around their concerns by reading the books with their children - together.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Other parents, especially of older children, let them read the book but spend time discussing it with them. There are some fairly violent and "dark" parts, especially in the later books; but, there are some wonderful moral and life "lessons" as well - if only they can be talked about.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Post your experiences with your children here, to share with others. A disney executive wrote an internal memo outlining the work, and the Lion King (as well as others) was born.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;George Lucas used the work for Star Wars, and there are many others as well - including J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.  The plot and character points made by Campbell have accurately predicted the Potter books as they have been released, including Deathly Hallows.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyone who is familar with Campbells work, please comment this post with your observatons!
